The 1718 Replica Coverlet was completed in 2004, and was created to show the beauty and complexity of the original without risking further deterioration to the fragile silks. The project aimed to replicate the original as fully as possible in terms of materials and construction. Volunteer members of The Guild each pieced together one block, which were the all pieced together by the Project Co-ordinator Pauline Adams. Some of the materials were difficult to obtain exact replicas, and so the silks were hand painted or the pattern produced by the digital computerised printing techniques.
