Blue cotton sateen hand-quilted wholecloth quilt made by Janet Pow. Janet Pow became known as a famous Hawick Quilter, and made over thirty quilts during the 1920s and 1930s which were sold at the annual church guild sales during that period. This example is a very distinguishable Hawick Quilt, containing the typical motifs that were popular in that area. It has a central motif of hearts with spiky centres, surrounded by a clamshell infill and border of more hearts.
