Unfinished Treasures - A mini-exhibition of The Quilters' Guild Collection

We are delighted to announce the Unfinished Treasures mini-exhibition at The Quilters’ Guild, St Anthony’s Hall in York. This new exhibition offers an exciting opportunity to view some of the unfinished works in The Quilters’ Guild Collection.

Take a trip through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries with this mini-exhibition that will showcase projects that were never quite completed, demonstrating a wide range of techniques in construction and design. The works exhibited will show the multi-layered construction and the re-use of materials, from Victorian conversation prints to twentieth-century crazy patchwork. Fascinating stories of families and communities who have inherited and continued quilts will be shown alongside personal projects, such as cushion covers and cot quilts based on 1930s magazine patterns.

This is the second of the four exhibitions we will be running this year, with support from the new Friends of the Collection scheme. An annual friend membership costs £15 per annum (£10 for Quilters’ Guild Members) and gives you entry to all the exhibitions throughout the year, plus free entry for a friend for any two exhibitions in that year. Individual exhibition admission is £3 per exhibition, and must be booked in advance through the Eventbrite website. We are also offering FREE entry for students on display of a valid student ID.

Please note the exhibition is open on Easter Monday 2nd of April, but does not open on weekends. As the exhibition space is small, we are offering timed tickets to those wishing to buy one-off exhibition tickets, to ensure that all visitors get a good visitor experience. (Exisiting and new members of the Friends Scheme do not need to book a time slot).
