Blue and pink silk quilted dressing gownmade at the Northern Industry Workrooms at Barnard Castle. The dressing is quilted with cable, rose and running feather motifs, and has a wineglass motif at the sleeve edge. The Northern Industries Workrooms were one of several organisations established to encourage and revive the traditional craft of quilting in the 1920s-30s. The original label which reads 'N.I.W. Barnard Cas.' is still intact.
