This hand pieced double sided coverlet has a rectangle frame design on the reverse side. It was one of six quilts given to an aunt of Barbara Bailey (a Quilters’ Guild founder member) on her marriage in 1870 in Manchester. They were passed down through the family on the condition they ‘were not used on the maid’s bed’.
