This coverlet is composed of embroidered biblical texts framed in a printed cotton floral border, which appears to be a hand-painted Indian cotton. Maltese crosses and hearts, as well as miscellanious cotton pieced birds, shells, seaweed, flowers and panels of hexagons - some containing more biblical quotes - are also present on the white cotton background.
In the centre between the arms of a cross is embroidered 'William Wyatt 1849.'
