Schools Information

For the past three years we have been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, as part of the 'Unfolding the Quilts' project the Quilt Museum and Gallery has offered schools a variety of fantastic learning opportunities from practical craft workshops to outreach visits. Our workshops and resources use historic textiles from our collection to complement the National Curriculum and design activities to inspire interactive and creative learning for students from Key Stages 1 to 5.

The 'Unfolding the Quilts' project will end in October 2011. This means that our schools offer for 2011-2012 will be different to the past three years because there will be no faciliated workshops.

From September 2011 schools will be able to book an independent visit to the Quilt Museum and Gallery free of charge. Schools can request to use our Education room as a lunch space or classroom. Please note this needs to be booked in advance as it is subject to availability.

New for 2011-2012!

We are developing online Teacher's resources. These will go 'live' in time for the new school term!

There will also be two fantastic new Loans Boxes with activities suitable for all Key Stages.
